Dinner at Diners’ Den

We found a new affordable place to dine at at Tomas Morato.  Yes, Tomas Morato has dozens and dozens of restaurants, but finding one that is affordable is a real challenge.  Most of the restaurants there are familiar establishments, so we know which ones to steer clear of.

We tried Diner’s Den simply because we wanted to try a new place.  Hooray for us, they had a menu outside, so we had a chance to browse before going in.  We were hungry and tired, and we just wanted some comfort food.

It was still quite early when we got there, about 6PM, so the dinner crowd had not yet arrived.  We chose a seat facing the glass wall, so we had a view of the happenings outside.  Anyway, on to the menu.  They really did have a mix of Asian and Western.

A few pics of the menu… as you can see, the meals are really affordable.  Most of them are in the Php150 range…

Anyhow, here’s what we had.  Salisbury Steak for Hubby, and Seafood Pasta for me.

The food was okay for us.  I wouldn’t  say it was wow-level, but you could tell that the dishes were carefully prepared, and they were made from fresh ingredients.  Hubby says the Salisbury was flavorful, and he did debate on whether to get an extra cup of rice or not.  The pasta’s serving size was just right.  It had no shrimp, but the fish fillet was cream dory fish.  And out of the number of times I’ve had seafood pasta, this is the first time that I have seen crabsticks mixed in, but I have to admit that it wasn’t bad at all.  I wonder why nobody ever thought of it before.  The service was good too, and the servers were knowledgeable on the menu offerings.

And to make it more exciting, they even have a weekday lunch promo.  Too bad my office isn’t near the Morato area. 🙂

Try the place, I’d recommend it.  Good value for your money.  Let me know if you liked it or not. 🙂

(Oh, bonus material.  They got the apostrophe right. One point for that!)
